To help with this, we’re looking for an outstanding Vice President / Architect - Hybris. A capable leader and collaborator who can deliver complex data-driven marketing solutions. Someone who is well versed in enterprise platforms and also has a strong passion for emerging technology. Because of the diversity of our agency accounts, we need a seasoned technologist with a broad background.  You’ll need to be able to speak fluently about the role of data and technology in advertising to a CMO one day and then talk about highly scalable e-commerce solutions to a CIO the next day.  This role is onsite with our client, so a successful candidate will be a trusted technology advisor to client IT and Interactive teams as well as the remote Digitas account team.

What you’ll do:

As a Vice President / Architect - Hybris, you’ll work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to create first-rate web experiences and ensure top-notch, end-to-end solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a history of eCommerce development with the Hybris platform, and other relevant experience such as Java Spring or ATG.  The candidate will be familiar with projects run within the Agile methodology and, as part of the role, the candidate is expected to be able to convert business requirements into code, prove their work with appropriate testing, and provide ongoing support to eCommerce websites. The candidate will also embed with client IT teams, representing both Digitas and the client interactive team.

Day-to-day, your role includes:

  • Advise large global manufacturing companies on Hybris Commerce Solution strategies
  • Define conceptual architecture and design for Hybris Commerce Solution considering architecture best practices, client IT landscape and technology trends
  • Guide technical teams in Hybris Solution design and implementation
  • Configure and develop best in class eCommerce proof of concepts, working demos and solution accelerators on SAP Hybris
  • Support solution development with key technologies (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Magento, IBM, etc.)
  • Lead Hybris Solution stream as part of advisory assignments / projects for leading manufacturing clients (industrial, auto, process or aero manufacturing clients)
  • Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents
  • Perform coding to written technical specifications
  • Investigate, analyse and document reported defects
  • Perform maintenance programming and correction of identified defects
  • Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses
  • Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates
  • Lead & mentor less experienced developers

We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:

  • 9+ years of Java Programming experience
  • Experience with Hybris and ideally other eCommerce platforms such as ATG
  • Programming experience in EJB, JSP, XML, OR SQL
  • Knowledge of web services (SOAP and REST)
  • Exposure to integration patterns / mechanism for leading e-Commerce products
  • Experience with SOAP and REST specifically, OCC API experience
  • Integration with CMS like Adobe AEM or Drupal
  • Knowledge of Tomcat or Jboss application server
  • Knowledge of Hibernate, Spring, Struts frameworks
  • Knowledge of ATG, AEM, or other enterprise eCommerce/Content Management Systems
  • Retail eCommerce experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge of database architecture and design
  • Troubleshooting through resolution of technical issues and system errors
  • Experience with Agile desirable
  • Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents
  • Ability to code software according to published standards and design guidelines
  • Flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure
  • A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work
  • Ability to work well within a team and lead when necessary
  • Excellent communication skills

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Design and ship high-quality technology solutions across enterprise platforms blending marketing technology and adtech
  • Provide thought leadership around new technologies, tools, and techniques
  • Actively influence the direction of the Technology Capability from a regional and national level
  • Participate in the technology section of the business development process and present to potential clients
  • Create solution designs, vendor evaluations, and technology assessments
  • Partner with other capabilities to inspire them around emerging technology and help deliver breakthrough digital work
  • Develop project forecasts, scopes, budgets and plans in partnership with Project and Account Management teams
  • Mentor and motivate your team
  • Manage the overall software quality and ensure adherence to internal standards and established best practices
  • Take responsibility for the career development of direct reports, which includes creating high quality and timely performance reviews and development plans

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify, you’ll need:

  • A positive, can-do attitude coupled with a deep passion for innovative technologies
  • Demonstrable experience leading technical teams in the development of highly complex, enterprise-class web implementations
  • Broad experience with technologies such as ecommerce, CMS, API Management and Microservices, CRM, cloud platforms and advertising technology
  • Creative agency experience preferred as you’ll need to partner closely with creative teams to ideate around new ideas and bring digital thinking to the table
  • Established track record for accurately scoping and maintaining budget and resources on multiple complex technology projects
  • Experience delivering digital products in the face of fixed budgets, immovable timelines and defined scope
  • Strong client facing and presentation skills
