As a Data Strategy Director, you’ll manage ongoing client engagements, working to consistently exceed client expectations and strengthen the relationship with actionable, value-added services. We’re looking for an exceptional candidate who has a strong marketing agency or marketing consulting background, business acumen and the expertise required to drive senior or c-suite client data conversations. The role maintains a primary responsibility in Singapore. The role will also support and be supported by the network as part of the Publicis Spine global data community. There are two key elements to this role: 1. Responsible for data strategy and consulting 2. Building the marketing transformation proposition for Digitas.
The first part of this role is therefore to be responsible for data strategy and consulting across multiple client engagements, through:
ª Providing a cross-functional understanding of data, navigating data ownership issues and governance toward a federated model.
ª Reversing the typical client data supply chain; starting by probing data and intelligence that is critical to the business’s short, medium, and long-term growth.
ª Working together with analytics and engineering to determine success metrics and translating them into data needs, technical requirements and uses cases.
ª Articulating a clear conceptual framework for the data strategy and an ability to communicate or broker decisions across functions in line with a project plan.
Part two of the role is to drive the Digitas Marketing Transformation proposition:
ª Working as a conduit between the agency’s Analyst, Strategy and Creative teams to formulate data-inspired strategies that drive effective ongoing communications.
ª Convincing clients of the value of strategic services to their business, helping them define needs and potential solutions.
ª Identifying new opportunities and establishing relationships with prospective clients, playing an active role in new client acquisition and new business pitches.
ª Developing smart frameworks and methodologies for approaching strategic issues or creative problems, utilizing a regional team of Data Analysts and Scientists.
ª Fostering a collaborative team environment and playing an active role in coaching, mentoring, training and hiring agency talent.
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
ª A consultative approach when engaging senior client stakeholders on the data strategy and Data Architecture required to realise their current and future business needs.
ª Transformation of customer data into actionable insights that can drive marketing strategy and inspire the creative process.
ª Ability to define requirements and guide agency teams when transforming disparate, user-level data sets into a “single view” of consumer behavior. Leverage this data in the development of models and communications planning applications.
ª A high comfort factor in interpreting information from complex analyses. Understanding of building - and generating insight from - integrated dashboards or visualisation tools.
ª Experience in developing customer led campaigns and triggered programmes using data derived from customer journeys - exposure to relevant marketing automation tools.
ª A high level of functional expertise in a broad array of digital marketing subjects, including integrated channel marketing, alongside respective analytical techniques.
ª Level of competence with statistical analysis languages and relational database technologies (Python, R, SAS and/or SQL) preferred.
Required experience and skills:
ª At least 10 years of experience with strong data planning, creative and marketing consulting pedigree demonstrated through case studies, awards and agency IP.
ª Ideally a Master’s degree in a quantitative or strategic planning field (communications, statistics, economics or technology focus).
ª Prior digital marketing, CRM or media agency experience is essential.
ª Experience of working within Asia Pacific and knowledge of the region is beneficial.
ª A track record for leading strategic engagements and creative outcomes with global and regional client brands in multi-cultural, multi-vendor and network teams.
ª Deep familiarity with the digital marketing environment and expertise in aligning marketing strategies with business needs.
ª Experience managing and coordinating multiple strategic projects across internal teams and client relationships.
ª Team management with excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
