Head of Connections Strategy, Strategy & Planning


The Head of Connections Strategy is responsible for strategic and planning output for Digitas Connected Creativity and Media domains. Someone who champions a modern approach to connected experiences for brands; who understands consumer behavior and context, and architects and orchestrates strategic communications to define how brands connect to people in a connected world.

The Head of Connections Strategy represents a dual role. 1) Overseeing planning and creative output - the voice of a brand 2) defining the Connections Strategy meaning the brand's expression – where and how it acts – providing a vision and guiding system for how brands will most effectively connect with consumers through integrated and innovative campaigns.

Furthermore, they will effectively work in collaboration on multiple fronts. Within Digitas working with the Connected Experiences Centre and agency consulting model. Within the Groupe fostering Power Of One collaboration with creative and media sister agencies, with a focus on data, performance and precision.

Digitas Strategists have a broad spectrum of experience that will drive their strategic thinking, be it brand planning, creative strategy or business consulting in consideration of Paid, Owned and Earned channels. Our approach is collegiate and thrives on diversity; Strategists work with client services, creatives, data scientists, user experience architects and technology professionals. The role maintains a primary responsibility in Singapore working on regional and local clients or new business prospects. They may be asked to support the network and other businesses throughout the APAC region from time to time. Day-to-day, your role includes:

  • A digital and media-savvy marketer and passionate problem-solver with deep expertise in omni-channel marketing orchestration and an unstoppable drive to bring the best work to life
  • A strategic thought leader with the discipline to step back from the noise in order to get to the behavioral insights that will incite successful connected campaigns
  • A research guru who has command of what’s available from third party resources, what’s possible from qual- or quant-based exploration, and the vision to bring it all together
  • A creative provocateur and persuasive storyteller who is endlessly curious, with a keen ability to shift perspective and illuminate powerful insights and creative potential through data and narrative
  • A proven leader and relationship builder with an authoritative presence and confident communication style with executive-level clients; easily accessible to all levels of the agency and client organizations
  • A skilled manager with a strong history of team oversight and talent development - known for an ability to coach and grow talent, provide constructive feedback in the moment, inspire and drive change, and assemble varied groups for advantageous collaboration
  • An accomplished professional with exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills, and the flexibility to adapt quickly to change. 


This pivotal role requires an outstanding breadth and depth of expertise (10+ years; Bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred), including a track record of impactful work experience and professional ingenuity – which means you have:

  • 10 years plus of strategy experience in relevant digital, media and creative agencies – consulting and client-side experience will also be a consideration
  • An excellent track record in leading strategy, teams and delivery with global client brands in multi-cultural, multi-agency and network teams 
  • Skillset oriented to creative strategy, media strategy/planning, data-driven creativity and content marketing (1st, 2nd, 3rd party data sources) and ideally some level of exposure to CRM and Experience Design to allow you to promote Digitas services across the customer lifecycle and value chain.
  • Exposure to a variety of industry verticals with depth and breadth of expertise in one or two categories – specifically we will be looking for experience of Financial Services and Travel & Hospitality sectors.
  • Strong creative pedigree demonstrated through case studies, awards and IP
  • Evidence of impactful creative problem solving, both on a conceptual level in defining the strategic vision and a practical level in handling planning and operational considerations through to a ROI / business growth outcome
  • Up-to-date knowledge of leading marketing technologies (martech), digital experience and data managements platforms spanning Paid, Owned and Earned / social media
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
