Vice President/Director, Search Engine Optimization

OVERVIEW

What you’ll do: 

As Vice President, Director of Search Engine Optimization, you’ll provide leadership and strategic vision to the search marketing team.  You’ll shape the agency’s SEO practice to support bold revenue growth and take the Digitas brand to the next level of global recognition.

Day to day, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Partnering with Fortune 50 brands.
  • Instructing long-term and short-term strategic marketing efforts to meet both market share and sales goals.
  • Helping to assess and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining the company’s existing strengths.
  • Keeping a firm pulse on changes to the marketplace and industry, adjusting marketing plans accordingly.
  • Developing a world-class search marketing team that will scale and thrive as the business grows.
  • Effectively using tools to automate and scale the business in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
  • Ensuring excellence and accuracy in all client deliverables and working with Managers/Directors to present them.
  • Developing or approving all scopes of work that include search engine optimization.
  • Collaborating with Delivery Managers on project timelines and with Staffing on resource needs.

Qualifications

We’re looking for a top-notch Vice President, Director who is also a delight to work with, which usually includes: 

  • Strategic marketing guidance with demonstrated track record of integrating SEO and web objectives into a larger strategic approach to secure resources and evangelize the critical contribution of SEO towards business goals with key senior stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of close collaboration with SEM and Analytics teams, with a focus on opportunity identification and progressing business cases through shared data. 
  • Experience translating data into SEO strategies.
  • Clear understanding of key elements that create maximum SEO growth opportunities as well as media efficiencies.
  • Identify potential testing opportunities utilizing a higher level of control in SEM to learn and create a better searcher experience in SEO. 
  • Meaningful knowledge of core SEO pillars, including, but not limited to: 
  • Holistic understanding of core programming, systems architecture, and data science.
  • Understanding of CMS functionalities and limitations with the ability to identify creative workarounds.
  • Identify opportunities and develop content recommendations that not only maximize SEO visibility, but also create a world class user experience that clearly connects intent to content/design. 
  • Focus on keyword identification and prioritization that takes into account SEO SERP feasibility for maximum business return. 
  • Identifying and developing scalable link building strategies (both internal and external) that adheres to current engine standards.
  • Ability to identify both direct and potentially indirect, data driven impact to business from optimizations. 
  • Deep understanding of and hands on experience with SEO & Web product management processes, planning & prioritization. 
  • Proven track record of effectively balancing parallel paths of tactical activation and planning future sprints across multiple BU’s.
  • Hands on experience in Agile environment, Familiar with agile methodologies, such as SAFe.
  • Experience on large ecommerce, working with various business owners across multiple BU’s and client stakeholders.
  • Preferred experience in lead gen or the health and wellness category.
