Publicis Media today announced that Michael Islip, CEO Digitas UK, has decided to leave the business to pursue opportunities outside of the company.
Michael, who has been with the agency for 10 years, will leave at the end of July. Throughout his tenure Michael has been at the heart of the agency - joining LBi to run M&S and rising to become CEO of the DigitasLBi business in 2015. He led the creation of the Publicis customer engagement hub in 2016 and most recently the successful relaunch of the Digitas brand.
As a result, Dani Bassil, who joined the agency earlier this year as COO, has been promoted to CEO Digitas UK.
Sue Frogley, CEO Publicis Media UK, said: “Michael has been a tremendous leader and has made a significant contribution to the agency. He will be missed by his many friends in the agency, and across the wider business, and we wish him the very best for the future.”

Digitas is a brilliant agency and it’s been an honour to be part of its story for the past ten years.”

Bassil, who moves into her new role with immediate effect, will be responsible for developing and executing the agency’s strategic vision and raising its creative output.
With over 20 years’ experience, Bassil has directed operations for agencies such as JWT, POSSIBLE and Grey London; working with a wide range of brands including Shell, HSBC and Johnson & Johnson.
