Department Summary

The Finance team in Digitas works with the entire business to make sure that the Company’s financials are accounted for correctly, reported timely and controlled effectively.

The Finance team acts as the gatekeepers of financial controls and processes, financial compliance and reporting and financial forecasting and budgeting.

Role Summary

The Finance Systems Accountant role is key within the finance team. Responsibility for fulfilling and managing a wide array of agency requests such as project administration and agency troubleshooting create the backbone of the role, while additional projects and responsibilities add variety and opportunity. With a wide range of stakeholders to manage, this role provide key exposure to all levels of the agency in both supporting and advising of key financial process decisions.  This role is well suited to someone looking to develop their understanding and awareness of a vibrant and diverse finance team while exhibiting great personable and tenacious skills with a can-do attitude.


  • Starters and Leavers
    • Responsible for liaising with the HR department and managing requests for starters and leavers access control to the agency time and expenses system.
    • Responsible for ensuring that the users list is up-to-date in the agency time and expenses system.
    • Managing special admin rights in relation to users accounts.
    • Assisting in the completion of the quarterly SOD controls audit.
  • Expense sheets
    • Full responsibility of logging and tracking agency expense claims to ensure efficient and timely payment is made by the AP teams. This includes liaising with Finance members and assisting in their approvals of such claims.
    • Archiving of original expense claims once fully approved by the agency, ensuring good document control processes are in place.
    • Providing 1st line support in relation to expense claims based on an in depth knowledge of the agency process and policy.
  • Project Life Cycle
    • Responsible for maintaining the agency Job Creation Mailbox, including:
      • Job Creation requests being reviewed, validated and completed
      • Job Update requests, modifying information and controls relating to our Jobs profile
      • Job Closure requests, ensuring these are completed efficiently.

This is a crucial aspect of the role where decisions are to be made quickly and efficiently while maintaining high levels of attention to detail. A detailed understanding of the impact such decisions can have on both the agency and finance teams. The Job Creation Mailbox represents the first level of Finance Controllership for the project side of the business and so responds to a wide variety of requests, including ad hoc analysis and information.

  • Reviewing all live project codes, to ensure auditability of documentation and client contracts.
    • Follow up on projects deemed ‘At Risk’. This again acts as a key control, requiring regularly liaising with both Client Services and the Finance Team.
    • Fortnightly reporting on status of all Job Codes Audit – This is a key report in assisting the Finance Team to categorise and manage their jobs portfolios.
    • Weekly Jobs profile health check. This is designed to ensure Jobs Data remains clean, current and efficient to use and a vital control around user access to jobs.
  • Client creation
    • Responsible for creating new clients in the agency Finance System and ensuring that all necessary information and checks  (Including Credit Checks) are completed.
    • Liaise with the Client Account Manager running the credit checks and escalate where required.
  • Vendor creation
    • Responsible for creating new vendors in Altair SAP
  • Ad hoc support
    • Ad hoc support to the Finance Team
    • Ad hoc support to the Agency on Altair SAP support queries i.e. following up where a workflow is in the system and move workflows if needed.
    • Ad hoc duties as directed by the Finance Manager or the Head of Department
