Overview

Associate Director, Digital Product Management

 

Digitas is seeking an Associate Director, Digital Product Management to drive technical innovation at the intersection of generative AI, data, and digital experiences.

 

In this role, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders and client teams to analyze their processes, uncover pain points, and map out opportunities for AI transformation or digital experiences. You’ll explore and evaluate diverse sources of information - including structured data and unstructured content - to design, configure, author or create bespoke agentic solutions tailored to each unique challenge. While generative AI will be a core focus, your toolbox will also include automation technologies, process/workflow optimization and traditional digital experiences. This will Requirements gathering, documentation and delivering experiences will be at the core of the role.

 

As an expert in Prompt Engineering, you will bring a deep understanding of how to harness and fine-tune generative models for optimal results. Your relentless curiosity and boundary-pushing mindset will drive you to experiment boldly and identify unconventional approaches that deliver measurable business impact. You will act as a thought leader and hands-on innovator, leveraging the latest advancements in technology to create practical, scalable solutions for our clients and internal teams.

 

You will serve as a key client partner—managing product development, addressing customer inquiries, and ensuring clients receive exceptional value and support. Your people skills will be equally important as your technical knowledge. What you’ll do:

  

The Digital Product Management practice provides traditional product management and business analysis support (requirements gathering and specification documentation), as well as technology strategy services (e.g. technology assessments and vendor evaluations) to support programs across clients within the agency. These programs range from marketing communication to data engineering to emerging technology. Client-driven digital tasks are increasing in scope and complexity and the need for effective tech leadership and product management skills has never been greater to deliver on those needs.

As an Associate Director, Digital Product Management, you’ll lead product roadmaps from inception through implementation on a range of highly dynamic digital projects and initiatives within our client portfolio. Learning on the job and becoming an expert in any industry or product to offer immediate value is critical to your role.

 

Day-to-day, your role includes:

 

  • Leading all aspects of technical discovery, strategy, definition, and delivery of client projects that includes:
    • Requirements gathering through analysis of the project goals and the client s digital ecosystem, background research, and working sessions/interviews with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strategic leadership throughout initial project discovery phase including, facilitating workshops, synthesizing findings and creation of potential paths to success in collaboration with the Experience Design team.
    • Building client relationships and trust to act as extension of their team
    • Conducting client walkthroughs of requirements, technology recommendations/POVs and/or live demonstrations of working functionality and capturing feedback.
    • Partner with client and project teams to define product roadmaps.
    • Auditing and analysis of technologies and vendors under consideration for project solutions.
    • Ensuring any necessary governance or compliance regulations are considered and followed.
  • Architect, prototype, and implement innovative solutions across diverse business use cases.
  • Leading teams of technologists including; Digital Product Managers, Architects/Engineers, and QA Engineers and Analysts – both onshore and offshore – in delivering the high quality technology solutions to our clients through the SDLC process.
    • Communicating requirements and functional specifications as well as responding to requests for clarification and deeper analysis with the Development Teams.
    • Partnering with the QA teams by reviewing and providing feedback on test cases, logging, and triaging defects as well as keeping documentation up-to-date.
    • Oversee release process in conjunction with tech partners and DevOps teams.
  • Partnering with the Project Manager in scope definition, prioritization of requirements, identifying project tasks, time estimates, assumptions, risks, and dependencies
  • Partner with clients to understand their evolving generative AI needs, and proactively identify opportunities where generative AI or technology can support their business goals.
  • Guiding Experience Designers (XD), Art Directors and Copywriters in the detailed design phase of projects and providing concise accurate feedback to help align with the requirements.
  • Partnering with the Account Team in managing client stakeholders by providing documentation within agreed timeframes and consolidating open questions/issues for communication with clients.
  • Educating others on industry best practices for product management and technology as well as staying current on emerging digital technologies and trends to support your analysis and client discussions.
  • Be a subject matter expert in prompt engineering, generative AI best practices and change management or governance for offering hands-on guidance and training to clients to maximize the value of the platform.
  • Managing other Digital Product Managers on the project and/or direct reports through proactive mentoring and providing timely constructive feedback.
    • Take an active role in career management for your direct reports.
    • Help grow and nurture our talent by identifying areas of opportunity and growth.
  • Develop and lead hands-on training for clients and internal users, empowering adoption of the platform.

Qualifications

We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:

 

  • 7+ years of experience working in a Digital/Technical Product Manager, Product Owner or Business Analyst role.
  • 7+ years of experience working on technology based projects.
  • 2+ years of experience as a manager of personnel.
  • Bachelor or equivalent degree in Business or Technology related discipline required.
  • Extensive knowledge of SDLC processes, Agile methodologies training and experience. Agile Product Owner certification a plus.
  • Knowledge in one or more areas of digital technology such as: content management systems (CMS), customer relationship management (CRM) systems, e-commerce, enterprise systems integrations, website builds, or native app builds..
  • Experience working on large complex projects with multiple teams, timelines, and dependencies.
  • An ambitious approach to learning on the job
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to support interaction with a variety of client and team members at different seniority levels and varying degrees of technical understanding.
  • Mastery of tools-of-the-trade for documentation, diagramming, task management, and collaboration.
  • Robust expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI, with hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and optimizing solutions.

Compensation Range: $112,290 - $161,280 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met.
