Digitas Hosts Marketing Tech Bootcamp for Boston High School Students

Boston, MA

Agency’s Eternship turns 20 years old

Digitas, the Connected Marketing Agency, is hosting its 20th annual Eternship program, from July 8-12th, a week-long marketing bootcamp for local high school students to live and breathe the creation of an advertising campaign. Since its launch in 2000, nearly 450 students have participated.

How it works: 25 students are presented with a client challenge at the start of the week. Guided by nearly 160 Digitas employee volunteers, students will be immersed into the agency learning about its’ connected capabilities across creative, data, media, strategy and technology. Participants are recruited through local nonprofit organizations Let’s Get Ready and Artists for Humanity, both of which engage under-privileged urban youth. Participants are also joining from local high schools, including Lynn Classical High School, KIPP Charter School, and Boston Prep.

During the week, students will receive lessons on public speaking, how to give a client presentation, and participate in individual mentoring sessions with agency employees. Working together in small teams, the students will present their campaigns to a panel of judges at the end of the week.

“We’re thrilled to welcome our future leaders again to give mentorship and teach best practices in an always evolving industry. We do this by tapping into our core values as an agency that uncovers the truths that help brands better connect with people.” -- Maureen Gates, VP Account Director, and chair of the Eternship program.
