Vice President/Group Director, Media 

We’re searching for a Vice President/Group Director, Media who’s an expert in pioneering media solutions, takes ownership for leadership within the Media group and acts on a sense of creative collaboration. You’ll oversee the development of Strategy and Media for clients.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Lead core teams across agencies and capabilities to deliver a superior client product
  • BUILD strong senior client relationships while providing strategic media thought leadership, identifying key challenges/competitive threats, and delivering insightful and informed solutions
  • REDEFINE the concept of ‘media’ and ELEVATE strategy by translating behavioral data into well-orchestrated communications systems and then demonstrating its impact
  • Oversee the development of media plans through a creative/marketing lens (not just media)
  • Inspire brand communications solutions based on behavioral insight
  • Assume a lead role on new business opportunities
  • Assist in leading the San Francisco media capability while helping to drive the department’s future growth
  • Maintain senior level relationships within the agency and with external partners i.e. clients, publishers …
  • Represent the agency within industry as needed

To qualify, you’ll need:

  • Four year degree
  • 9-12 years of Advertising and Marketing industry experience with 3 years of staff  management and team leadership
  • Strong strategic planning background with ability to orchestrate a brand’s strategic communication architecture
  • Expertise in the digital world – including social, programmatic and content
  • Thorough knowledge of offline/online Media channels inclusive of TV, OOH, Radio, and non-traditional
  • Knowledge of comms ecosystem across paid, owned, and earned
  • A curious mind, with a desire to disrupt the status quo
  • Track record of innovative thinking and work
  • Strong business acumen, ability to learn, live and breathe a client’s business
  • Proven leadership ability and previous senior client relationship experience
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MRI
  • Track record of successful problem-solving skills
  • Superior interpersonal and presentation skills
  • A STRATEGIC PROVOCATEUR and PERSUASIVE STORYTELLER who is endlessly curious and questioning with a keen ability to shift perspective as well as illuminate powerful insights via persuasive storytelling (in both presentation and consensus building)
  • Desire to collaborate and seek other opinions and contribution for the best possible outcomes
  • Candidate must be open to travel as needed
