DigitasLBi welcomes David Chriswick (known also as ‘Chizzy’), a multiple award-winning account planner, as its new SVP/Creative Strategy lead for the Chicago and San Francisco offices. He will be based in Chicago and report to Jonathan Tatlow, SVP, Connections & Brand Experience Planning.
Arriving from DDB Worldwide as its Global Strategy Director, he led the strategic planning on DDB’s international Mars account, covering Mars Petcare, Wrigley and Mars Chocolate. In that time he led the evolution and global roll-out of the iconic Taste the Rainbow campaign for Skittles, which is now live in over 30 markets.
Born and raised in Wales in the UK, David started his advertising career at Bates in London before moving to Australia in 2003. There he worked for McCann Erickson before joining DDB to work on Volkswagen, Pfizer, Unilever, and PepsiCo, among others. His later role on Wrigley resulted in his transfer to the US for the global role.
His fervent creative-first approach has helped get his name on numerous awards including 16 Cannes Lions and 2 D&AD. Most notable among these were the Gold Media Lion and Cannes Effectiveness Lion for the McDonald’s Australia Day ‘Maccas’ campaign in 2013, and Gold APG Creative Strategy Award for a men’s health campaign in 2008. David’s recent re-positioning work for the American Cancer Society, involving the new Advantage Humans campaign, is currently shortlisted in the 2016 Jay Chiat Strategy Awards.
Commenting on his arrival, Jonathan Tatlow says: “David has a proven track record of award winning work with a passion for insightful thinking and brave ideas. His expertise to inspire and create across a breadth of categories makes him a perfect fit for DigitasLBi. We look forward to him continuing to set the bar ever-higher.”
On joining DigitasLBi, David says: “The concoction of in-house capabilities at DigitasLBi is mouthwatering for an account planner like myself. Transformative creative opportunities lie in so many places nowadays, so with these resources within arm’s reach, I’m very excited. DigitasLBi can become the future-proof agency model that more and more clients are realizing they need.”
