Vice President/Group Architect

We’re searching for a VP/Group Architect who can act as both an inspiration and confident leader for technology teams delivering complex data driven marketing solutions. We are looking for someone who is well versed in enterprise platforms and also has a strong passion for emerging technology.

Because of the diversity of our agency accounts, we need a seasoned technologist with a broad background.  You’ll need to be able to speak fluently about the role of data and technology in advertising to a CMO one day and then talk about highly scalable e-commerce solutions to a CIO the next day.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Be a strategic partner and trusted advisor to CIO/CTO and senior digital leadership across a portfolio of clients
  • Partner with agency creative teams to inspire them around emerging technology and help deliver breakthrough digital work
  • Actively guide the direction of Technology Capability from a regional and national level
  • Architect scalable technology solutions across enterprise platforms blending marketing technology and adtech
  • Lead the technology section in the business development process and present to potential clients
  • Create and/or review client-facing documentation of requirements, detailed architectures, vendor evaluations, technology assessments and marketing roadmaps
  • Conduct marketing technology assessments and evaluations; provide thought leadership on what areas can be improved
  • Provide overall team leadership across multiple projects
  • Work with staffing to anticipate and fill needs
  • Manage the overall quality assurance process to ensure high quality, on-time technology deliverables
  • Take responsibility for the career development of direct reports, which includes creating high quality and timely performance reviews and development plans
  • Develop project forecasts, scopes, budgets and plans in partnership with Project and Account Management teams
  • Travel to clients, vendors, events and other Digitas offices when needed

To qualify, you’ll need:

  • Four year degree (Computer Science or equivalent preferred)
  • Broad experience with technologies such as ecommerce, CMS, API Management and Microservices, CRM, cloud platforms and advertising technology
  • Good commercial sense with a fair understanding of cost, price, margin, risk and contractual obligations
  • 12-14 years managing technical teams in the development of highly complex, enterprise-class web implementations
  • Creative agency experience desired as you’ll need to partner closely with creative teams to ideate around new ideas and bring digital thinking to the table
  • Established track record for accurately scoping and maintaining budget and resources on multiple complex technology projects
  • Experience delivering agile projects in the face of fixed budgets, immovable timelines and defined scope
  • Exceptional client facing and presentation skills
  • Oh, and experience with Headless CMS architecture, NodeJS, Cloud PaaS Solutions (EC2, Bluemix, GCP & Azure), Conversational frameworks (Wit.ai or API.ai) and a chatbot or two in production would all be very helpful
