To help with this, we’re looking for an outstanding Senior Data Engineer – someone who can design and build elegant, state of the art solutions to our client’s data needs. Sound like you? Read on.


What you’ll do:  


The Data Engineering team works with a variety of teams across Digitas to implement stable, automated and advanced solutions to their data needs. Data Engineers work with Analysts to simply their media reporting needs through third party API integrations and custom data lake implementations on AWS or GCP. Data Engineers also work with Digitas’ Data Science teams to build complex solutions that collect real time steams of site data, automate machine learning models and send results to 3 party activation platform APIs.


As Senior Data Engineer, you’ll manage the implementation of various data pipelines for our client projects


Day-to-day, your role includes:

  • Work with Lead data engineers to implement production-grade data pipelines and ETL processes to support leading-edge analytics and big data processing
  • Capable of understanding high level business requirements and project architecture to determine and estimate development activities
  • Keep up on the latest AWS/GCP tools that would be appropriate for new or existing projects
  • Work with vendor relationship and development teams to guide integrations and resolve technical issues
  • Evaluate and test new data transformation tools that can be leveraged to solve the client’s needs
  • Write ETL code that you will unit test, document and deploy to cloud computing platforms like AWS or GCP
  • Keep business stakeholders updated with status of development tasks and project risks
  • Keep JIRA updated for with all project tasks and statuses
  • Partner with the Business Analysis and Data Science teams to determine ETL requirements and test scenarios
  • Guide Associate Data Engineers with best practices and principles
  • Research 3 Party API documentation to determine implementation guidelines
  • Collaborate with DevOps to build repeatable and sustainable infrastructures


We’re looking for strong, impactful work experience, which typically includes:

  • Proficient in at least one cloud computing platform such as AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Proficient in cloud data management tools including the following: 
    • AWS: Lambda, Data Pipeline, Glue
    • GCP: Dataflow, Google APIs
  • Proficient in relational databases
  • Proficient in at least 1 backend programming languages, Java or Python preferred
  • Proficient in version control systems and strategies
  • Experience in implementing service-oriented architecture
  • Experienced understanding of DevOps activities and their role in the SDLC
  • Experience with non-relational databases
  • Experience with shell scripts and command line tools
  • Experience in build and dependency management tools such as Maven
  • Experience with cloud storage products (AWS S3, GCP Cloud Storage)
  • Experience with cloud security products (IAM)
  • Experience with cloud databases (BigQuery, RedShift)
  • Experience using issue tracking and knowledge base software for project tracking (Jira)
  • Bonus: AWS or GCP Data Engineering Certification
  • Bonus: Experience with deployment tools including Jenkins
  • Bonus: experience with Scala
  • Bonus: familiarity of Data Science concepts
  • Bonus: experience in the marketing/advertising industry
