Digitas UK strengthens team with three new managing partners

14 June 2022 – London, UK: Digitas UK has appointed three new managing partners Nici Malamoglou, Daniel Jones and Lisa Robinson to support its continued growth.

Jones will work on a growing portfolio across product & platforms and Robinson will focus on customer engagement, with Malamoglou to lead the Samsung team within Digitas. Jones and Robinson take up newly created roles as Digitas continues to push the boundaries across its capabilities. All will report to managing director Claire Cootes.

Cootes said: “As our growth plans accelerate and we look to deliver our future-ready proposition for a growing roster of clients, these appointments are crucial to bolster our capabilities. Nici, Dan and Lisa have deep expertise in their specialist fields, they understand the broader marketing ecosystem and how to build integrated customer experiences that deliver success for both clients and their customers. We look forward to taking our clients businesses to the next level through their innovative and fresh perspectives.”

Malamoglou joins from Havas CX, where she spent four years as global client partner responsible for Maersk Brands and VW Group. She also worked at Ogilvy for three years from 2013–2016, where she ran a portfolio of clients including British Airways, Salesforce, Vodafone, Regus and Sage. Over her career Malamoglou has worked across several industries including tech, auto, logistics, finance and retail.

She said: “I’m excited to work with a forward-thinking agency. Digitas has big ambitions for the agency and for clients, and I look forward to leading our efforts to deliver transformational work for our Samsung clients.”

Robinson joins from WPP, where she spent three years in a global role heading up the Respiratory category on GSK across all communication touch points. She delivered two of the most successful campaigns in the last five years for Theraflu and for Otrivin. As part of her role, Robinson was also the experience lead for GSK and helped create a shift to a consumer-first approach. Prior to this she spent 10 years at Havas, where she worked closely with clients across several brands including Unilever, Diageo, Peugeot.

Robinson said: “The entrepreneurial spirit and drive to deliver impactful work, experiment and do things differently, whilst ensuring clients are front and centre on that journey is unmatched at Digitas. I am looking forward to working with the team, to build on where we are today and prepare our clients for the future.”

Jones previously spent 10 years at AKQA, where he worked on a portfolio of clients across sport, entertainment and hospitality, including Nike and Amazon. He will work closely with chief experience officer Jane Austin and chief product officer Rafe Blandford to drive product and platform opportunities, deepen Digitas’ capabilities across digital product design and development and connect this to the agency’s wider offering.

He added: “When you think about what will make agencies relevant in the future, as technology breaks new ground, customer expectations rise rapidly and scrutiny on bottom lines intensify, it will be the agencies that build things to impact people’s lives directly who succeed. Agencies like Digitas, that create world-class products, solve business problems and respond to the real needs of people.”

The appointments follow recent successes, including the award of BT and EE’s customer engagement account. The agency has gone from strength to strength in recent years and continues to grow relationships with existing clients.
