Overview
As a Senior Strategist, Social Strategy, you will play a critical role in developing and executing breakthrough social and influencer strategies for a new, high-profile, global CPG client. You’ll operate with a high degree of independence working with international teams around the world, supporting the team through transition, planning, and day-to-day delivery once fully onboarded—while partnering closely with Strategy Leads, CMs, and cross-functional leaders.
This role is ideal for a true T-shaped strategist—someone with deep social expertise and strong fluency in creative ideation, culture, and client communication—who thrives in ambiguity and moves fast without needing constant direction.
You’re the right person for this role if:
- You thrive in the grey and are comfortable owning your workstreams without handholding
- You move fast and can pull together client-ready thinking and decks in tight timelines
- You balance strategy and execution—part “planner,” part “doer”
- Collaboration is your default: you work seamlessly across teams (data, commerce, production), with clients, and with the IAT
- You’re highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong instincts for cleaning up messy inputs
- You’re confident presenting work and articulating a strategic POV
- You can speak fluently to both Social and Influencer strategy and execution
- You’re resourceful—able to find the right answers, tools, or partners to get things done
- Being a pet parent is a plus
- You understand how to navigate the dynamics of global v. local client relationships and workstreams
Job Responsibilities
Day-to-day, your role includes:
- Diving deep into social listening and cultural insights to uncover opportunity audiences and communities
- Partnering with social and influencer leads to develop and refine social and influencer approaches, ways of working, and team models
- Delivering agile social thinking and insights to fuel quick-turn, in-market activations with the IAT
- Contributing to the creation and evolution of social playbooks, frameworks, and best practices
- Translating cultural and social insights into compelling creative briefs and idea territories
- Developing and executing integrated social and content strategies that drive engagement, brand love, and measurable impact
- Working closely with creative, influencer, and analytics partners to deliver cohesive, high-quality programs
- Supporting client relationships through strong communication, responsiveness, and strategic counsel
- Staying deeply plugged into pop culture, emerging platforms, and digital trends
- Mentoring junior team members and elevating the quality of strategic outputs
Qualifications
We’re looking for impactful experience, which typically includes:
- 4–6 years of digital and social experience (agency, brand, or publisher side)
- Hands-on experience supporting the building of social and/or influencer work
- Strong collaboration across an IAT or integrated team model
- Experience working across multiple brands or a portfolio is a plus
- Experience working on a global account is also a plus
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to social frameworks, playbooks, or best practices
- A track record of translating insights into strong creative and social activations
- Deep understanding of the social media ecosystem across legacy and emerging platforms
- Experience crafting creative briefs and collaborating with creative teams
- Advanced working knowledge of social listening and insight tools (e.g., Quid, Brandwatch, TikTok Creator Search Insights, Reddit Answers, Spate, StatSocial)
- Strong grounding in organic social, with familiarity in paid amplification and influencer measurement
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with an interest in mentoring and growth
