DigitasLBi announces today Dave Marsey, EVP/Managing Director of San Francisco, elevates to Chief Growth Officer of DigitasLBi North America. Christian Birk, Managing Director of Denmark and Norway, will succeed Marsey as the new EVP/Managing Director of San Francisco. Both appointments begin August 29. Birk and Marsey will report to North American CEO Tony Weisman.

Christian has been with the agency nearly 6 years — he joined in 2011 and led over 100 unicorns as Managing Director of Denmark and Norway. As San Francisco’s new EVP/Managing Director, he will lead all aspects of office life, business, and culture for nearly 100 unicorns, including account management, all capabilities, talent, growth, and operations. Christian has held several positions at DigitasLBi, including Nordic Director of Media & Strategy. He’s worked on global strategy, technology, and marketing programs for many of the agency’s international clients, including IKEA, Volvo, Carlsberg, Maersk, Carlson Rezidor, and Danfoss. Christian’s career started when he founded his first web agency at the age of 14. Since then he has also worked at McKinsey, IBM, Vodafone, and was a part of starting zyb.com. He has worked in Copenhagen, Hong Kong, and London.

Dave has been with DigitasLBi almost ten years — he joined in 2006. As Chief Growth Officer he will drive new business and continue to reside in SF. Dave has driven global business developments across the agency network in a hyper-competitive market while overseeing global client engagement in multiple industries, including retail, travel, and entertainment. He’s a recognized strategic marketer and innovator in the social and content space, having led Taco Bellʼs Cannes Lion-winning Social Media Blackout campaign. Dave’s committed to diversity, inclusion, and philanthropy as president and board member of First Graduate, which helps students become the first in their family to graduate from college. He spent twelve years as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Chicago’s Graham School of General Studies and was the recipient of their 2012 Excellence in Teaching Award.
