Digitas UK has appointed Jennifer Berry as its new CEO. Berry will join Digitas in January from Razorfish, a fellow Publicis Groupe agency, where she has led the agency’s US northeast regional business as EVP, Managing Director.

An experienced and future-facing leader, Berry has spent 15 years with Publicis Groupe across two continents, starting out in her native Australia before moving to New York a decade ago.

Berry will take up the role of CEO of Digitas UK in January. Digitas has had a successful first half to 2022, during which the agency picked up significant new business including the BT and EE customer engagement account, as well as welcoming new clients such as Crocs and Norwegian Cruise Line to the fold. The agency has made several strategic senior hires to support continued growth across the business and bolster its capabilities to help clients get future ready.

Chris Kay, CEO of Publicis Groupe UK creative practice and Saatchi & Saatchi, said: “Jen is a super collaborative and hyper-modern leader with a proven track record of helping businesses big and small run at the future and embrace new opportunities. Digitas is on a real growth trajectory, and I’m excited about how Jen’s smarts and energetic style will continue to drive this brilliant agency forwards.”

Having worked client, agency and publisher side over the years, Berry has led teams across a wide range of sectors including retail, financial services, FMCG, technology and travel, with varied engagements including creative, media, commerce and platforms. She is passionate about working with cross-functional teams to develop market-leading, culture-changing work. An example of this is the Project #ShowUs initiative for Dove, which focused on systemic change and representation for women and female-identifying individuals. The work was awarded a Glass Lion at Cannes in 2019 and an Effie in 2020.

Berry’s inclusive leadership style and drive for social change led her to act as a mentor for the Vanguard programme, established by the 4As Foundation, which is designed to provide a framework for the industry to ensure more diverse and inclusive leadership in the future.

Jennifer Berry, incoming CEO of Digitas UK, said: “I am so excited to be joining the Digitas team where there’s an infectious energy and passion that’s inspiring. When I started out, digital was often the add-on for marketers. Now it’s the bullseye, and we have the ability to partner with our clients to help them solve both business and societal problems. I can’t wait to join this bunch of talented people and champion all their diverse mindsets and skillsets to create powerful, purposeful work for clients.”
